One of our favourite places to hike is the Vale of Edale in the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire. This is a beautiful part of England with a massive choice of walks for all ages and levels of fitness.
This walk is an Edale classic that takes in some of Kinder South’s highlights such as Jacobs Ladder, Noe Stool, Pym Chair and the rocks of the Wool Packs. As an added bonus you finish at the Old Nags Head pub for some well earned refreshments!

This route starts from the Waterside camp-site (where we stayed) but it can easily start from the village and end there to make a nice circular route. The trail is mostly good with a steep section at Jacob’s Ladder and a slightly tricky downward part at Grindsbrook Clough where care should be taken if wet.
Distance: 7.8 miles / 12.5 km | Height gain: 1273 ft / 388 m
