‘Magical Moments’
It’s those magical moments that keep you going when you’ve been on the road a long time.
For us, sunsets, and to a lesser extent sunrises (as we struggle to get up for them) remind us of why we are travelling and what is so special about experiencing new places.
It’s that feeling of being out there, somewhere, anywhere, and being witness to something truly spectacular. No two sunsets or sunrises are the same – the world keeps turning, and you realise how completely minuscule you are in the great scheme of things – but for that piece of time, it’s yours to treasure.
I had lost track of how many great sunsets we have seen during our RTW Trip, so it was nice looking back through our travel photo collection and reminiscing about particular times and places.
Ever heard the saying “Red sky at night is a shepherd’s delight”…? Well red certainly makes for a dramatic sky. But it’s not all about the red – sunsets and sunrises are just as eye catching with varying hues of yellow, gold, orange, pink and even purple.
We’ve been known to take over 100 shots in the space of an hour as the light and colour is ever-changing! So we thought we’d share our very best with you.
Here is a selection of our favourites from around the world…

Gorgeous, gorgeous shots. We realized we hadn't done a sunrise, sunset round up either, and posted one not too long ago. If you'd like to check it out . . http://turtlestravel.com/sunrise-sunset/
I'll definitely check your shots out, absolutely love looking at other people's travel photographs! I've been going through our travel collection for other stuff & found a few more sunsets I want to add to this post, such as sunset at the Grand Canyon. Can't believe I missed it off!
I've never seen anyone make Pub Street looks so pretty! Amazing photographs.
Thank you 🙂 We were lucky to capture the sunset straight down the street! Right place, right time…
